Artist Statement

I started this ongoing series while in quarantine. Given the time to self reflect, I began taking care of my mental health in ways I didn’t know I needed. By shining light to complex emotions and experiences, I began to create a better relationship with my own identity. I started this series creating boundaries for my inner peace. I no longer allowed myself to turn away from circumstances that I knew would propel me into an emotion that I believed was bigger than myself. Once grasping these experiences and emotions, they began to manifest into a visual form. Some solidifying into familiar representations and others taking on what seems to be from a dream. By creating these boundaries for my inner self I was able to break more in other parts of my life and society.
