8-bit Heaven is my tribute to the heady “Golden Age” of video gaming, when the first video games were not only thrilling for the game play, but were art in motion for me. The portrait in the center of the image is a picture of me from 1978, rendered in a pointillist style out of quarters, the currency of the arcade. The surrounding “rainbow” is composed of thousands of video game characters from video games that I played from 1978 – 1984.
