ARTIST STATEMENT
For millennia women have been held down and silenced by the patriarchy. Just within the past century gradual steps have been made through struggle and persistence that allow women the chance to open their horizons and move into roles and positions of greater equality and respect. But the backlash and resurgence of prejudice and fear of the loss of power always seems to be lurking in the shadows. At this moment anti female misogyny is rising once again and showing its true colors to the world.
My digital collages are icons that remind us that the struggle continues and that we must keep moving forward, retaining our vigilance and focus.
