Description

ARTIST STATEMENT

My favorite artist’s statement was by the 20th century artist, Balthus. He said, “Balthus is a painter of whom little is known. Now look at the paintings.” My work is a little world in which I like to dwell. You are welcome to join me there. Don’t step on the hedgehog.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I was born when the sky was yellow and there were witches and dinosaurs and no TV. I discovered early on that I am an illustrator, a teacher, a writer and a puppeteer. All those areas of my work life feed each other and allow them to grow in unexpected ways. I am constantly discovering the connections between words and images and small found objects. I also love birds and anything with frosting.
