ARTIST STATEMENT
From the girli gurl collection of brazen bras comes the opportunity to be as girly as you can. This collection pays homage to the Boobies also known as, Tits, Knockers, Bazooms, Jugs, Chest, Mamma, Bubby, Rack, Mammary Glands. During my stay of breast cancer, I decided to decorate the boobies when mine were removed until the new ones were provided. This made me happy and I continued to wear them under my clothing as only I knew I was a showgirl underneath it all. Now my years long secret is out.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
My bout with breast cancer was something that never entered my mind. As a healthy health enthusiast who never smoked, I exercised to keep my body in good order. Then the diagnosis came and I said that succumbing to this was not an option. Immediately I decided on a bilateral mastectomy. No pity party just decisions moving forward. I began designing bras to support this journey. Others wanted in and I designed and sold several. Now my collection is complete and I look at them regularly, and thank God for the recovery and allowing my ability to choose the medical journey instead of accepting fate. Oh, by the way I quilt too.
