ARTIST STATEMENT
The focus of my work is to feel the medium and react to it. Every minute of our daily lives is carefully planned. In my artwork, I strive to stray from over planning and react to how colors, textures, drips, etc., lead me through to a final piece that I couldn’t have envisioned prior to the beginning. It is very freeing to not over plan and yet enjoy the result. I am learning so much by giving myself over to the process in the medium.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Donna Weiss attended the Milwaukee School of Art & Design, earning a Bachelors of Design. She received a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Donna’s off work hours focus on the creative aspects of staying true to an educational foundation in the fine arts. Her work focuses on process, exploring the medium to generate texture, color, and layered depth. Donna resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
