Description

ARTIST STATEMENT

I’m drawn to the way we exist within landscapes, both physical and emotional, and how we interact with them. Creating imaginary landscapes, rather than working with photo references, allows play and intuition to guide the process rather than focusing on the recreation of a realistic place. Experimenting with new media combinations is important to me as a self-taught artist, so I almost always use more than one medium to create texture or layers in a piece. As a writer most familiar with the world of words, my visual art has appeared primarily in literary journals.
