ARTIST STATEMENT

Grobladet is Swedish for broadleaf plantain and it was my final project in art school. I chose to make a blanket in this shape since these plants grow in the place where I feel most at peace and they are supposed to have healing qualities. They represent calm, happy times for me. This was during the first year of covid and I was just so full of anxiety that I wanted to roll myself up in this healing blanket. It seems like I have a pattern of making myself things to feel better and honestly it works. Plus sitting on this one makes you feel like a forest fairy.
