ARTIST STATEMENT

The images Caroline Robinson paints are driven from her subconscious, the things she loves, things she feels, and what she sees. Robinson mainly works with Oil and Acrylic mediums and describes her process as a sensory and physical experience. When Robinson thinks of colors and images, she tastes texture, she hears sounds, and she feels temperature. Caroline states that the images she paints are a diary entry throughout the past several years (seasons) of her life. Robinson has noted as she grows older, she is scared of forgetting things and all the different feelings she has had throughout her life.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Caroline Robinson (born 1999) is a painter, writer, musician, and multimedia artist. Her paintings focus on personal events, feelings, objects, people, music, and religion. In addition, Robinson has a special relationship with color. Utilizing not only the color she sees when she creates an image but to narrate personal feelings, events, and sounds throughout her work. In her process she considers and is mainly motivated by shape, light, and texture. Fabric has been another medium that Robinson feels embodies those three elements, and works closely with embroidery. Robinson received her BFA in Studio Art from Columbia College Chicago, IL in 2022. Caroline grew up in Boxborough, Massachusetts and now resides outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
