ARTIST STATEMENT
My current work is an intimate exploration of family, memory, and the evolving beauty within the women who shaped me. At the heart of this project are the relationships between myself, my mother, my daughter, and my grandmother—four generations of women connected by blood, love, and resilience. I grew up surrounded by strong women who carried the weight of life with grace and quiet power. Their strength was never loud, but it was undeniable, woven into every gesture, sacrifice, and word of encouragement.
Through this series, I reflect on what it means to be raised by women whose strength shaped me, while also witnessing the quiet transformation that comes with aging. I see the fading of youthful beauty in my mother and grandmother, but in that fading, I discover a different kind of beauty—one carved by time, experience, and wisdom. Now, as a mother myself, I watch this cycle begin again in my daughter. In her, I see the fresh spark of a new generation, carrying forward what has been passed down, whether consciously or not.
Each piece in this project is a meditation on generational connection, love, loss, and rebirth. My goal is to honor the legacy of the women in my life—not as static figures, but as dynamic beings who continue to shape and inspire me. This work is not just about looking back, but about seeing forward—tracing the invisible lines between past, present, and future through the lens of womanhood.
