ARTIST STATEMENT
Through my work, I explore the themes that shape my identity as a woman and my experiences throughout my life. Recently, over the past year, I have been fascinated with the symbolism behind growth and evolution. There are different stages with each organism, including unique colors, various forms, and different states of growth and decay over time. Reflecting on my identity, I find myself connecting how I’ve grown over time to nature. My values, like my personal beliefs, lifestyle, views on religion, and sexuality, have evolved. I am happy with where I am with my life and am finding peace knowing that my life will change over time. Life is fluid, and reflecting on that fluidity helps me be at ease and reflect that feeling through painting and ceramics. My work gives me peace of mind about how life moves on, and I will continue to grow through my experiences.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Becca Krusza is a multi-media artist based in the greater Chicagoland area. She is primarily drawn to creating work through painting, ceramics, and digital illustration. She creates with a bright and colorful palette, using symbolism to express her ideas in her work. Becca explores themes about gender identity, sexuality, relationships, and nature.
