For years, my Mom was sexually assaulted by her husband; my father.
Back in the 80s and 90s, a woman would never be taken seriously if she went to a police station and said “I was raped by my husband”. In a world ruled by men, women had no place at the table.
She spent those years feeling violated with scars that never seemed to heal no matter how hard she tried to wash the abuse away. While she never had an abortion, she knows what it feels like to not have control of her own body and 100% believes a woman should have all the rights in the world to their body when it comes to reproductive rights.
