I am a single mother three times by choice. I was born to a mother who was forced to surrender me for adoption and raised by a mother who could not conceive because of her life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.
My life has been surrounded by birth politics and women who were empowered by being able to make decisions about their own bodies and future thanks to the passage of Roe v. Wade.
The recent radical actions to regulate women’s body autonomy is not pro-mother, pro-“life” or pro-family; taking control of our bodies through patriarchal systems of power -religion, economics, and submission will not stand!
