ARTIST STATEMENT
Danielle’s paintings place the viewer within the landscape and bring to mind the peace and solitude of the outdoors.  Her vivid color palette and bold outlines express her joyful and optimistic approach to life.  Danielle’s work also grapples with themes of mortality and impermanence.  Her depictions of cut flowers symbolize not only the bounty of nature’s gifts but also the ephemerality of existence.  This tangible reminder of the fleeting character of desire urges the viewer to embrace the beauty of the present moment while contemplating the importance of time.
