ARTIST STATEMENT
The human body, amazing mechanical vehicle. A source of life, love and shame. Too big, too small, sick or healthy a complicated relationship. Figure drawing has been a connection between art and science, frustration and joy, a connection with my mother. We drew side by side for decades. Now I draw on my own finding solace and freedom. I honor her and I honor my vision without her. Bodies are complex as is the mother, daughter bond. I am thankful she nurtured my creativity and did not give my brother and I coloring books.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born to an artist and an architect, my world has forever been full of art and materials. Working in as many mediums I can has been a journey that took me from art school to the corporate world of art materials. Retirement has given me the chance to play with the mediums I love.
