ARTIST STATEMENT/ABOUT THE ARTIST
From within the physical confines of fibromyalgia, I have good days and bad. I am still traveling, experiencing, creating. I am the Curator at the Owensboro Convention Center and a Guest Curator for the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art researching and organizing the Kentucky Women Artists Exhibit, as a historical survey, crisscrossing the state to meet women artists of all ages. I maintain a busy personal schedule of exhibitions, both group and solo, across the country and conduct workshops and jury exhibitions. In the past, with a BFA and MA I have been an art educator in museums, universities, public schools and a gallery director. I have been a teaching assistant to Judy Chicago in the creation of At Home in the 21st century with Judy Chicago and I have received a fellowship to study 17th century Dutch art at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. And I am the mother of two amazingly liberated, outspoken, and accomplished women. We protest and promote women’s issues together.
