ARTIST STATEMENT

By embracing imperfections, we can see nostalgic beauty in a cruel world. I carve away layers of the surface to reveal raw emotions ingrained in us to survive. My art looks at the perspective of the empath—one who feels too deeply and cares too much. The layers of clay reveal the true nature of the material, the years it has endured, the storms, and the paths taken before it met my hands. This history transforms into the stories of now and the energy of the future in the hands of the beholder.

In a world that diminishes women’s voices, my work calls to embrace the strength, resilience, and vulnerability of the female experience. It protests the enmity towards women, exploring the female form and reflecting the urgency of this fight. Like clay, the female form bears scars of pressures and struggles. Through vessels and installations, I portray the struggle for equality and safety, capturing beauty, suffering, strength, and fragility.
