Constellation: Monica Ong and Visual Poets in Conversation

Join us to celebrate the experimental spirit of visual poetry in a book launch for Planetaria by Monica Ong, who will be in conversation with some of today’s most exciting interdisciplinary poets Naoko Fujimoto and Kelcey Ervick. This multi-media poetry reading and Q&A features a luminous constellation of genre-defying authors whose work blurs the boundaries of text and image, moving seamlessly across the arts and sciences, through languages and geographies. An author book-signing and refreshments will follow.

Reading from her new collection Planetaria, Monica Ong’s astronomy-inspired work, which was exhibited at the Poetry Foundation, invites us to consider poetry off the page as broadsides, literary art objects, and gallery installations, her multi-disciplinary practice made legible in a book that is at once a poetry collection and artist monograph that explores motherhood, women in science, and diaspora identity.
