ARTIST STATEMENT
Michelle’s paintings are about people and sceneries inspired by the breathe of nature and the way we live. Applied heavily, she paints in oils using palette knives, brushes, sponges and undertones of light washes of color. Color relationships essential to telling stories of light, mood, moments in time.
She looks for stories in people, sceneries, in the abstract that are unbound, knowing, voiceless. Looking to be seen. An unresolved push and pull of paint. Tension. Texture of brush stroke and palette knife in all directions. No direction. A unique color story individualized to obsession. An invitation to get close.
