ARTIST STATEMENT
My sculptural practice (ceramics and mixed media) is about searching for empathy in the uncanny.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Robin Carlson is a sculptor, photographer, and the director of @xiaospace_art in Evanston. Her sculptures playfully test the boundaries of human nature and explore subjectivity beyond. She has a BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and a MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. She currently divides her time between her studio in the Bridgeport Art Center, Xiao Space Art, and the Chicago Botanic Garden, where she is Manager of Photography.
