Years before my born, freedom took flight and left our land. We, the Iranian women, could only see the colors of liberty in our dreams. Maybe sky blue! As time passed, a new generation of women in my country found the courage to fight for freedom, from gender discrimination to the oppression of the Hijab. The batons are still landing on our heads. Women are imprisoned just for the crime of wanting freedom. Yet I am hopeful and see growing blossoms of freedom.
I endeavor to paint the beauty of eastern women with my photos. I do not know if I have been successful although I will continue overcoming my struggles through my photos. Even picturing the freedom of women is a crime in my country. But I believe the change is coming and the freedom is in near future. Maybe my photos are my contribution to this change.
