ARTIST STATEMENT
This work is part of the “I’m Not the Girl I Used To Be” series. This series is ongoing and addresses identity and the feminine. As this series unfolds, imagery relating to gender, ageing, faeries, paper dolls, and sirens are explored. While the faces may appear childlike and innocent at first, there is often an underlying psychological undercurrent. The viewer may initially respond to the playfulness of an image, however upon closer look they will find that there is often more there than first meets the eye.
