ARTIST STATEMENT
“I gave birth to my daughter on my 35th birthday and have taken maternity leave and led a life of baby care at home ever since.
Every day, I follow the routine to feed the baby, burp the baby, change the diapers, play with the baby, making solid foods, washing bibs, lull the baby to sleep, etc. Smooth and stable home life goes round and round every day. Such tranquility however makes me pay attention to several details that seem to be similar in my day-to-day life but yet totally different in essence.
“Baby Time” records a precious moment of baby care at home. Over this period of time, I finally had the chance to pause and live slowly. I see the world again, with childlike vision of newness and novelty. I learn to experience again with a bit more caring eyes. During moments like this, I’ve experienced a rather special time in my life when I completely absorb myself in life itself, which I would say is a beautiful gift from my daughter.”

Lee has been the finalist in Flora & Fauna Photography Competition in 2009. Her latest curatorial project “”Considerate Creations: Chameleons”” was exhibited in Taipei and New York City featuring artists who combine roles of artists and art administrators like Lee herself, aiming to explore various dimensions and value judgments in the art industry.
