“This is a painting that evolved subconsciously. It is a self-portrait that plays with the patterns in my clothing. I created an interior environment with those patterns that might suggest wall paper in a kitchen or dining room or parlor, but the place does not exist. On my apron are two pins that belonged to my deceased mother in law, Mary. The painting becomes a group portrait in a sort of spiritual place accessible to the people who loved her via heart, mind and memory.”
