“I have no words for how I feel right now. I am heartbroken over George Floyd’s death and the subsequent riots. My mind is fuzzy, I don’t remember as much as I feel I ought. The division that has been building politically from before I can remember pains me. Has it been just this election cycle, the past two Presidencies, decades, my entire lifetime?… Time is a blur. I can’t even recall my father’s passing as well as I should; 2014 was swept up like grains of sand and sometime around 2017 I started to reawaken, now to this… There is so much rage. I am trying to stay off of Facebook because bearing witness is too painful and too volatile. I am trying to just float along because right now everything else seems distant.”
