In the current situation, the thing that matters the most and keeps me going, reminding me of what is real and giving me the optimism I need to think about the future and the human life, is my 7 month old daughter. I focused on the bond between us two and kept it simple, painting simply our hands, mine holding hers. For babies, their mother is everything in the world, and their world is only this, her smell, her touch, her voice. In times like these though, we come to estimate even more the importance of human touch, in every sense, having so much lack of it. So as an optimistic message, I chose these images as an hymn to life and new beginnings and focusing on what matters the most.
