My work tells stories using re-purposed papers that relate to the subject of each piece. The documents, brochures, and related papers become not just the surface of the portrait, but materialize as inherent elements of the narrative. They are literally a paper trail of the multiple aspects of a point in time; building blocks to the whole. Words, times and dates of particular importance blend into shadows in order to reveal new perspectives, evoke sentiment and aid in the investigation of the nuances of memory.
