Dear Earth,

We have so much to learn from you. The pattern of veins in your smallest leaf is mirrored in the elegant pattern of tree branches, rivers, and streams. Your ecosystems of tall-grass prairies, coral reefs, and mangrove forests offer shelter that supports life all along the food chain. We have destroyed much of your fragile web through our neglect, ignorance, and greed. We have put you in grave danger. We pledge to learn from your resilient systems and to create sanctuaries for our most vulnerable organisms, plants, animals, and human beings. We will reimagine our respectful place within the global commons, and together repair and sustain our natural world.
