Envisioned and created by Gerbarg in a virtual world with 3DVR goggles on and controllers in hand, inspired by both nature and the built environment, Gerbarg makes expansive, expressionistic gestures, in explosions of light and color. She surrounds herself with brush strokes of colored light in a three-dimensional virtual world. Gerbarg then takes snapshots in, around these “light sculptures”, from multiple angels and perspectives to further develop them. This work blends the act of abstract expressionist brush strokes with digital technology.
