Silence
charcoal/paper/aluminum
Through figurative representation my work today presents a visual diary. It incorporates sculpture and drawing as fragments of memory or pieces of narrative. Mysterious figures impersonate my emotions in their gestures of strain, each carrying the most memorable moments of my life. Drawings are covered with metal pieces and mesh, interacting with the figures they frame. And yet, no matter how foreign these materials are to one another, they speak about the duality of my existence in the unattainable solidity of one world and the sophisticated reality which other claims. I ultimately long for both and belong to neither.
