Coming from a strong matriarchal family with spirituality running through every vein has opened up a world of questions and a dedication to healing. Around the globe people are searching and layering themselves with tradition, rituals and icons. My work is intended to motivate viewers to seek outside their prescribed traditions, to open their spirits and create a path that is unique to themselves, one that makes a personal connection to their belief system. Women are particularly adept at this, and there is a rich history of women’s home altars. One of our blessings as women is that we have the power to heal a world confused by religion. The power to turn ritual around from a blind methodology and utilize that ritual as an opportunity for blessings.
