Sudden Enlightenment” is a piece informed by Taoist and Zen philosophy. It is part of a series of paintings done with acrylic paint on synthetic paper. The paper resists the thinly applied paint, causing puddles and areas of emptiness. This piece also includes space that has been scrubbed out, as the painting evolved on the synthetic paper surface.
