The series is a joint effort by the artists C Marie and Max Hovaten. Done in the style of the Dutch Master’s these still lifes represent a modern version of the food we eat with the same reverence and beauty as the traditional master’s used in their still life paintings. We also wanted to present the viewer with a tongue and cheek approach on the variety of cultures living in the U.S. today. To find a humorous way to appreciate our cultural differences.
