No matter how we choose to define ourselves, visual art-making has the power to both express and shape identity. Making art prepares us in small ways to meet greater challenges with creativity.
My paintings are visual records of a desire to remember, describe, and understand. The symbols, rhythmic patterns, overlapping colors, and fractured space of my compositions are metaphors. They stand for the significance of time and the shifting quality of memory.
