Prayer Image: Cape Breton Woods

Recently, my brother was diagnosed with colon cancer. In response to his cancer, I have created a series of “Prayer Images.” For each image, I have created a tumor — a random shape painted with liquid emulsion in the darkroom. On top of each tumor, I have placed a photographic landscape, the place I would go to pray for his health and healing. My brother has responded well to surgery and chemotherapy. Perhaps the “Prayers” are working.
