The individual and the human condition have been my main interest since I was a child. As I matured, I felt compelled to look into the condition of the advanced elderly, in order to prepare myself for that eventuality. I became artist-in-residence in a Home for the Aged, and they helped me recruit volunteers to have their portraits painted.
As we worked, their life stories flowed in a warm and personal way, and after several months, I left there inspired and with a very positive perspective on my future.
