As a sculptor, I am interested in form and material, and I am interested in culture, families, the political world, and the environment. I use materials to express themes. Forms made of wood, stones, fabric, string, metal and clay represent nature, family, community and cycles. Recently I have been interested in forms and spaces that signify states of mind. Vessels made in clay then cast in bronze reflect organic things, human organs as well as plants and animals or geological formations. The inner spaces of bubbles, or seed pods, or eggshells, are mysterious interiors. The interplay between form and content presents a fascinating puzzle. The solution is often necessarily elusive; the answer is just another question.
