DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the experimental spirit of visual poetry in a book launch for Planetaria by Monica Ong\, who will be in conversation with some of today’s most exciting interdisciplinary poets Naoko Fujimoto and Kelcey Ervick. This multi-media poetry reading and Q&A features a luminous constellation of genre-defying authors whose work blurs the boundaries of text and image\, moving seamlessly across the arts and sciences\, through languages and geographies. An author book-signing and refreshments will follow. \nReading from her new collection Planetaria\, Monica Ong’s astronomy-inspired work\, which was exhibited at the Poetry Foundation\, invites us to consider poetry off the page as broadsides\, literary art objects\, and gallery installations\, her multi-disciplinary practice made legible in a book that is at once a poetry collection and artist monograph that explores motherhood\, women in science\, and diaspora identity.
