My work comes out of a focus on historic and personal matriarchal fragmentation; a loss that I find vast and multi-faceted with endless tendrils and outcomes. To speak to this vastness I work in a collage-like manner of cutting, layering and burying. My work shift in and out of abstraction with woman wrestlers, gendered materials like folded quilts, classical architecture and my body as recognizable fragments. I am interested in vacillate between the concrete, the image and the enacted thought sculpture, painting and performative video wondering how the same intention can manifest differently under shifting conditions.
