This recent body of work is a melding of my figurative work and abstract work. Each piece begins with a credible abstract work. My challenge then is to find a figure in that piece and to block out the unnecessary abstract work. My joy comes when I meet these figures and learn their story.

I work in acrylic and charcoal occasionally using pastel and collage. I have no formal art education. I have learned from artists I have worked with as a fashion illustrator and newspaper artist as well as a few independent classes.
