A persistent, unshakable fascination with the natural world drives my work, and literature, especially fairy tales and mythology, haunts it.  The ideas of femininity found in story are pervasive and numerous, but what is femininity and is it actually found anywhere in nature? My paintings are inhabited by beastly women, or feminine beasts, hiding behind feathers, fur and carapace.  I am native to this bestiary, and yet sometimes I still fear the fruits of my own imagination.  They lure me away into the dark and gleaming jungle, and I am lost forever.
