When asked as a child "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I thought the question was silly. I knew I was an artist. I experimented with anything I could get my grubby little hands on, eventually went to college and graduated with a B.F.A. (emphasis in painting and ceramics).

While working to save funds for graduate school, a viral disease I had contracted as a child began the decades long process of distorting and stealing my eyesight, leaving me legally blind. The specialist, who has been treating me, informed me a few years ago that he did not think I would lose any further sight and what I was left with was as stable as it would get. From that day forward, I have been working, pushing all the characters and "other worlds" residing and colliding into each other in my mind, out for others to see.

In addition to being influenced by my daily life and experiences, the events and lives of others, past, present and what I perceive to be the future, also make their way into these completed images. Although I see the finished work only in my imagination, I feel secure that all have emerged unscathed for others to see and make of it what they will.
