The word that best describes my work is “poetic”. Poetic Expressionism – “My Paintings are like poetry; you understand the ‘words’, but sometimes they are put together in a way that surprises you.” I tend to work in a series, working both from direct observation of nature and imagination. The Paintings shown are some pieces from my “Romantic Memories Series”. It is with a sincere tenderness towards humanity and a reverence for nature that I create my paintings. The expressionistic qualities of the works of Vincent Van Gogh inspired my work, especially in the early stage of my career. Other artists who have interested me are: Botticelli, Bonnard, Gauguin, and Alice Neel. |
