These pieces are a reflection on identity confusion, erratic thought patterns, and the multitude of roles we each play. I chose the relief printmaking method to convey a sense of universal primitive simplicity. Hand carving each block to be inked and pressed on is a primal experience that brings me closer to myself, humanity, and nature. The goals of these pieces are to take the viewer from a state of mind that is saturated in thoughts of multiple role responsibilities to a singular state of being. |
