Current Board Members
Woman Made Gallery is governed by its board of directors, which, together with staff members, conducts regular meetings throughout the year.
Annual elections are held in May, and the Board president serves for two years while other board members are elected annually. Board positions are renewable. Board members contribute a minimum annual amount of $250 and contribute to the Directors and Officers insurance. Board assistance may come also through any other donation and/or funds raised through auction ad sales, donated items, and auction sponsorship. Board members serve on at least one committee each, and actively help with fundraising activities. They also attend art openings and other events and recruit new members.

Anita Jenke - President
Anita Jenke is Executive Director at the Career Transitions Center of Chicago. She previously served as the Development Director at The Women’s Treatment Center, and has over 16 years of experience in community-based social services. She has an undergraduate degree in history from Murray State University, Murray, KY. Jenke serves on the board of The Chicago Jobs Council, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. |

Mary Keefe - Treasurer
Mary Keefe is a Managing Director and Director of Compliance for Nuveen Investments, Inc., a leading provider of diversified investment services. She was the Director of the Midwest Regional Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission for ten years from 1994 to 2003, where she managed the enforcement and examination programs with a staff of more than 200 for the SEC’s office, which covered the nine Midwest states. Mary earned her law degree at DePaul University College of Law and her undergraduate degree at Northern Illinois University. She is a member of the Chicago Finance Exchange, and served as a board member from 2001 to 2003. She chairs the WMG Finance Committee. |

Marty Bash - Secretary
Marty Bash is the retired owner of MKS Composing, a typesetting business she ran for 32 years. Her education includes two years at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts and a B.A. in Art History from Northwestern University. She started volunteering once a week at Woman Made in September of 2004, as well as at the Shedd Aquarium, and joined the WMG Board in April of 2008, serving on several committees. |

Shannon Downey
Shannon Downey is founder and owner of Pivotal Production, Chicago’s premier green event and experiential marketing company. She is part-time faculty in the School for New Learning at DePaul University and is on the management team of AFreshSqueeze.com. Shannon earned her Masters Degree from Aurora University and holds a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Deb Flagel
Deb Flagel is an artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. She has experience in gallery management and curating, and has served as an art instructor for several years. She is currently co-leading WMG's monthly Her Group artists' sessions, and is actively involved with the annual Gala event. www.debflagel.womanmade.net. |

Marcia Grubb
Marcia Grubb is an artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She served as Head of the Printmaking Department at Columbia College from 1976 to 1982; and was Treasurer of the National Women’s Caucus for Art from 1978 to 1981. Grubb is President of Grubb Property Management, Inc., a condo, town-home, and cooperative community management company, nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year since 2006 by Ernst & Young. |

Linda Hillman
Linda Hillman has a B.A. in Art and Art History, a M.S. in Visual Communication from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a M.S. in Applied Linguistics from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She is an artist working in ceramics, following 35 years as an ESL teacher, teacher trainer, writer, and founding director of the English Language Academy at DePaul University, Chicago. She has published articles about noted potters in New Ceramics, Ceramics Monthly, and in Clay Times. www.lindahillmanpottery.com. |

Elena Aguirre Sznajder
Elena Aguirre Sznajder is an educator and Academic Dean at Dorothy Stang Popular Education Adult High School, the only bilingual high school completion program serving Latino adults, ages 25 or older, in the Midwest. Sznajder currently serves on the board of The Guild Complex. She is also an accomplished sculptor and ceramic artist, with her studio located at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. |

Kathleen Waterloo
Kathleen Waterloo is a professional artist working with encaustics. She earned a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and attended Harrington Institute of Interior Design and Northern Illinois University. Her experience includes 18 years as a licensed interior designer practicing interior architecture in Chicago. She is represented by Melanee Cooper Gallery in Chicago, and serves on the WMG Gala Committee. www.kathleenwaterloo.womanmade.net. |

Cheryl Toles
Cheryl Toles received a B.A. in Art Education from Southern Illinois University and an M.B.A. from Colorado Technical University. She has been employed by the Cook County Criminal Justice System for over 20 years, and currently serves as manager of sworn staff personnel. She is a member of the Creative Artist Association (2005), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (1977), and the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (2002). Toles is an exhibiting artist whose work represents the diversity within the African American community. We thank Cheryl for her contributions to WMG. |

Cassandra West
Cassandra West is a communications professional in nonprofit and corporate sectors with extensive leadership experience, possessing strong analytical, promotions and multimedia skills. She served as Director of Communications and Media Consultant for the Chicago Foundation for Women. She was the Associate Editor for Tempo and WomanNews Section Editor at the Chicago Tribune from 1994 to 2007. West is a member of the Chicago Association of Women Journalists and the International Women's Media Foundation. We are grateful for her continued support on the WMG Advisory Board. |

Amy Stoeffler
Amy Stoeffler is an MD OB/GYN practicing general obstetrics and gynecology. Stoeffler worked for the U.S. Peace Corps for seven years in the Philippines and in Chicago. She was an active and most generous boardmember and has served two terms as WMG's Vice President. Amy has co-chaired the Benefit auction fundraising committee for several years and is actively continuing her support of WMG. |

Pamella Capitanini
Pamella Capitanini is a member of the Capitanini Family, which has owned and operated the Italian Village Restaurants (Vivere, LaCantina and The Village) since 1927. Her personal responsibilities are those of Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, and Philanthropy. Her other interests and obligations include Kendall College, and being a member of the Children's Memorial Foundation, the Chicago Loop Alliance, and the Italian American and Chicagoland Chambers of Commerce. Capitanini was an active member on WMG's Marketing Committee, and she successfully co-chaired the Auction Fundraising Committee. We are most grateful to Pam for her leadership with the 2009 Benefit, which raised more money than ever before. Her practical attitude, hard work, and unending generosity have done wonders for WMG. |

Robin Malpass
Robin Malpass is Agency Principal and Marketing Director at TDSM Agency. She has a B.A. from Northern Illinois University and attended Lewis University. Malpass has served on the board of the Business and Professional Women's Club and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association. She is also an artist who has exhibited her work in a variety of venues. She was the Chair of WMG's Marketing Committee, and has continuously advertised for the Gallery. Robin's ideas, good will, and generous spirit have benefited WMG for many years, and her active participation on the WMG board will be deeply missed. |

Rebecca Sive
Rebecca Sive has been a Commissioner, Finance Committee Chair, and General Operations Committee Chair of the Chicago Park District, a Commissioner of the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and Vice-Chair (and only woman member) of the Executive Committee of the Chicago 1992 World’s Fair Authority. She was also an officer of Playboy Enterprises, as well as the Executive Director and a Board member of The Playboy Foundation. Sive is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago and has received numerous other honors, including distinguished achievement awards from the University of Illinois and Carleton College, as well as the Outstanding Community Leadership Award from the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, and the Chicago Urban League Woman of Distinction Award. She is listed in Who’s Who in America and Feminists Who Changed America. As WMG's board president, Sive's expert guidance led to great progress during her short tenure. We are most appreciative to Rebecca for all she has done, and we are grateful that she has offered continued support and assistance. |

Nicole Gotthelf
Nicole Gotthelf has over 20 years of experience in fundraising and communications for non-profits. Currently, she is the Director of Development and Communications for the Center for Neighborhood Technology (www.cnt.org). Gotthelf was elected and served on the City of Madison Common Council for eight years. She is a board member of the Andersonville Development Corporation (www.andersonvilledevcorp.org). She is the past chairperson of Community Media Workshop. Gotthelf received her B.A. in Geography from Beloit College. Fluent in French and Spanish, she has lived in France and Latin America. We are most appreciative of the work that Nicole did as WMG's board president from 2007 to 2009, and we'll miss her important contributions. |

Wilma Stevens
Wilma Stevens is a former art director, graphic artist and book designer with World Book Publishing. Her own art involves traditional lace making. Stevens has served as President for the Chicago Chapter of NOW. She is a former board member for the Chicago Book Clinic, and served on the WMG board from 2001 to 2009, with terms as both President and Vice President. We thank Wilma for her guidance and the many contributions that she has made to WMG. |
Donna Korey
Donna Korey, a former elementary school teacher, has a B.A. in Art History from the University of Illinois Chicago, where she also completed the Museology certification program. During this time, she served as a Collection Assistant at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum. Currently, she is researching and writing about the artwork and life of Morris Topchevsky, a Chicago artist and social activist during the first half of the 20th century. Korey is an instructor of Art History, teaching a Modern Art Survey class at the Harrington College of Design. Thank you Donna, for serving as Secretary of the WMG Board of Directors. You were there when we needed you. |

Michele Sexton Dorvil
Michele Sexton Dorvil is the Assistant Dean and Director of the Liautaud Graduate School of Business at UIC. She has a Master of Nonprofit Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor of General Studies degree from Indiana University. Prior to joining UIC, Sexton Dorvil worked for the University of Notre Dame managing a $5.2 million grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to eradicate Lymphatic Filariasis in Haiti, as well as teaching a certificate program in Entrepreneurship. She speaks fluent Creole and conversational French. We thank Michele for her support and help. |

Margo Jeanchild
Margo Jeanchild is the owner of a consulting and coaching business serving non-profits and community service programs. She was a VISTA volunteer before beginning a 20-year career with the Peace Corps, during which she worked in Kenya, Sri Lanka, and China. Jeanchild was an active member on the WMG board from 1996 to 2008 and served as co-chair of the Auction Committee with Amy Stoeffler and Ann Regan. She currently works as Country Director for the Peace Corps in St. Lucia. We thank Margo for all her support of Woman Made Gallery over the many years! We would not be such a great institution without her help. |

Mary Ruth Coffey
Mary Ruth Coffey is a poet, crochet artist, performer, professor of leadership, and human rights advocate. She uses her business and law education and experience to lead organizations whose missions are to end violence against women and to ensure that every individual has the right and the means to fulfill his/her potential. She served as the Executive Director of Connections for the Homeless in Evanston and currently works for the Old Town School of Music. We thank Mary Ruth for her valuable support as Treasurer through June 2008. |

Carmen M. Perez
Carmen M. Perez is an artist, an Adult Educator for Chicago City Colleges, and Vice-President of Stoppert Perez Ltd., an arts and antiques business.
Perez received her B.A. in Art from Northeastern Illinois University. She exhibits her jewelry, sculpture, and drawings in galleries, art and craft fairs, and expositions in the U.S. and Canada. Her work can be viewed at www.linealatinaarte.com. Together with Mary Stoppert she established WMG's Artisan Gallery in Spring 2005 and co-curated all Artisan Gallery exhibitions through July 2008. Perez resigned from the WMG board in June 2008. We are most grateful for Carmen's outstanding and devoted services to Woman Made. |

Mary C. Strickland
Mary C. Strickland is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas. She worked as a Client Financial Management Specialist at Accenture in Chicago. Strickland is also an artist, with an interest in charcoal drawings. We are grateful to Mary for serving on the WMG board through fiscal year 2008. |
Jyotsana Garg
Jyotsana Garg's educational background includes a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. Her career has expanded from Price Waterhouse Coopers, the Defense Department, and CNA Insurance, to Cinteger LLC, a property management consulting service in NC. Jodi joined the WMG board in spring 2005 and served as Secretary through spring 2008. We are most grateful for her sevices. |
Nancy Koprowski
Nancy Koprowski is Chief Operating Officer of The Michelangelo Group, LLC, a media consulting company, whose clients include The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the United Press International, among others. Koprowski works as a Music professor at Harold Washington College, in Chicago. She holds a Master's degree in music composition from the American Conservatory of Music, and a graduate diploma in publishing management from George Washington University in Washington D.C. Rhonda Wheatley
Rhonda Wheatley is an artist who explores language, consciousness, and spirituality in her mixed-media paintings. She exhibits her work throughout Chicago and across the U.S., and she was represented by FLATFILEgalleries. Also a writer and editor with a marketing/advertising background, Wheatley received her B.A. in English from Loyola University and an M.A. in Writing from DePaul University. She was a board member from November 2003 to June 2007 and served as board Secretary from 2004 to 2006. We'll miss Rhonda's valuable participation on the WMG board. |

Ann Regan
Ann Regan was Chief Compliance Officer of The Oakmark Funds and Director of Mutual Fund Compliance at Harris Associates L.P., an investment management firm in Chicago. Regan received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and her law degree from Stanford University. She served with Nicole Gotthelf on the Governance Committee. Regan resigned from the board in October 2006 when she moved, but continues her involvement with WMG by serving on the Advisory Board. We are grateful for Ann's support and outstanding work for the organization. |

Roberta Reb Allen
Currently serving as Vice President and Curriculum Director at the American School in Lansing, Illinois, Roberta Reb Allen is also an accomplished artist. She presently works on a series of small watercolors of a young girl at play and her images can be viewed on her webpage, www.robertareballen.womanmade.net. Allen was WMG's Board President from 2002 to 2004 and also served as Vice President and Secretary. She successfully helped the organization in a variety of important areas, including as Volunteer Coordinator for the annual art auction. Roberta retired from the WMG board in June of 2005, and we thank her for her most dedicated service to WMG. |

Lauren Levato
Lauren Levato is an artist, writer and co-founder of Survivor Circle, an organization helping women heal from sexual trauma through art. She received her A.A. in Women's Studies and B.A. in Writing from Purdue University, and wrote, edited, and designed for various news organizations and women's magazines before becoming a freelancer. Levato served as Secretary of the WMG board, and resigned in June 2005. She continued to coordinate the poetry readings at Woman Made Gallery through 2007. We thank Lauren for the wonderful contributions she has made to the organization. |
